Football festival attracts high interest

THE Ba Academy grounds were buzzing with excitement and youthful energy last Saturday as they successfully hosted a vibrant Fiji Football Association grassroots football festival, despite the persistent rain that fell throughout the day.

The festival was a true testament to the resilience, passion, and determination of the young footballers who participated.

Fiji Football Association mentioned despite the weather, they remained fully engaged in the fun-filled sessions that were designed to improve their skills, teamwork, and overall love for the game.

With smiles on their faces and enthusiasm in every activity, the children showed that their spirits could not be dampened by the rain.

They added event also showcased the strong commitment of the Ba Academy to nurturing football talent at the grassroots level.

They provided young players with a supportive platform to grow both on and off the field, creating an environment where they could thrive.

Adding to the value of the occasion, the Director of Ba Football, Ravinesh Kumar, and Ba team players were present to guide and motivate the youngsters.

“Despite the rain, the energy and passion from the young players were outstanding. This is exactly what grassroots football is about—giving children the opportunity to enjoy the game, develop their skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment,” said Chand.

He also acknowledged the importance of community-based programs in strengthening Fiji football’s future.

“Fiji Football continues to play a key role in developing young talent at the community level. Seeing the coaches, players, and children working together today shows the strength of football development when the community comes together.”

The festival will continue on Saturday, with more young participants anticipated to take part.
