The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) says teams in the Western Division are working around the clock to ensure flood-affected families receive food rations following the recent severe flooding.
Officials based at the Office of the Commissioner Western Division are coordinating relief efforts as communities begin recovering from the floods that have disrupted food supplies and livelihoods.
Food ration packing was done at the yard of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management in Lautoka.
Authorities say the NDRMO is working closely with key stakeholders to ensure affected communities in Ba Province and Nadroga-Navosa Province receive the much-needed assistance.
The relief distribution forms part of ongoing efforts to support families whose food security has been impacted by the recent flooding.
The number of affected Fijians has not been released.
