FMF Foods Limited, gold sponsor of the Leadership Fiji Cohort 2025 (LF2024) project, said it was an inspiring initiative dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of healthcare professionals at St Giles Psychiatric Hospital.

The LF2024 Team, led by Losalini Nalawa, had undertaken the construction of a recreational bure and dedicated wellbeing spaces, along with improved lighting, seating and landscaping.

“These enhancements are thoughtfully designed to create a safe, calming, and restorative environment for staff at St Giles Psychiatric Hospital,” FMF said in a statement.

“This initiative is truly a labour of love.

“LF2024 members have taken the project from concept to reality, working tirelessly to build the centre from the ground up despite persistent rainy weather, challenging site conditions, and ongoing constraints related to raw material availability and delivery delays.”

“The team also approached over 100 companies to secure sponsorships and fundraising support to ensure the project’s successful completion.

“Their efforts embody leadership in action — grounded in service, resilience, and a genuine commitment to community wellbeing.”

This project is a meaningful investment in the mental health, resilience and care of healthcare workers who face immense daily pressures.

“By creating a dedicated space for rest and reflection, the initiative acknowledges the critical importance of supporting those who care for Fiji’s most vulnerable,” FMF stated.

“As an organisation guided by our vision of giving back to the community and building a stronger, more resilient Fiji, FMF is honored to stand alongside like-minded professionals from diverse industries who are united by a shared purpose — supporting those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.”
