A TEAM’s ability to stay focused throughout a 90-minute match will be the defining factor for the four districts set to battle in the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants semi-finals today.

This was according to Fiji Football golden boy Roy Krishna who was at Subrail Park in Labasa last weekend to witness the BOG group matches.

The semi-final fixtures see Extra Supermarket Labasa battling River Tubing Fiji/Classic Tours & Rentals Navua at 2pm while Lincoln Rewa will take on Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka at 4.30pm in the second semi-final.

Rewa, Labasa, Lautoka and Navua are also the top four teams in the Extra Premier League standings.

Seeing the lineup and calibre of teams, Krishna said the secret will be on how well a side is locked in both physically and mentally throughout an entire match.

“Look, the teams are prepared, they got great coaches so I think it will be exciting, but it all comes down to who is more focused not just in five or 10 minutes but in the dying minutes as well, so yeah, it’s all about focus,” he said.

Originally from Labasa, Krishna tried to brush aside his bias but did admit that he would like to see his home team with the spoils at the end of the tournament.

However, he zeroed back to the main factors that will guarantee victory for any of the four teams.

“Teamwork. I think whoever is more prepared, more focused will be the champion.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji Football Association stated on Thursday that the tickets for the semi-finals and final are selling fast with the VIP tickets already sold out.
