The Fiji National University (FNU) recorded the highest number of local students studying privately between 2020-2024.
This according to information provided to Parliament by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.
He was asked to provide data on privately enrolled students at FNU, University of Fiji and the University of the South Pacific.
FNU recorded 50,255 private students between 2020-2024 with 11,188 (2020), 10,206 (2021), 10,470 (2022), 9081 (2023 and 9310 (2024).
The University of the South Pacific recorded 40,406 private students between 2020-2024 with 9467 (2020), 9816 (2021), 8737 (2022), 7257 (2023) and 8129 in 2024.
Another 9518 students privately studied at the University of Fiji between 2020-2024 with 1802 (2000), 2128 (2021), 2128 (2022), 1910 (2023) and 1550 in 2024.
