Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has yet to respond to a request for a meeting from the Fiji National University (FNU) Council, which has now lodged a complaint with the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) against vice-chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba.
Council chairman Semesa Karavaki confirmed yesterday that the complaint had been formally submitted.
“We have lodged the complaint with FICAC,” Mr Karavaki said.
“There are two allegations made against Mrs Baba that needs police and FICAC investigations.”
Mr Karavaki said the council was still awaiting a response from Mr Rabuka after seeking a meeting to discuss the allegations and broader concerns.
He maintained that the council’s priority was to safeguard the integrity of the university while ensuring due process.
The council had earlier called for an independent investigation into FNU’s operations, citing what it described as numerous complaints.
Questions sent to the Prime Minister on whether he would meet the council remained unanswered at the time of publication.
