FIJI National Rugby League (FNRL) chairman Akuila Masi has announced that strict penalties and enhanced security measures will be implemented following a violent brawl during the recent match between the Nabua Broncos and Topline Warriors in the opening round of the 2025 Vodafone Cup.
Masi condemned the misconduct, stating, the match was disrupted by unacceptable behavior, resulting in multiple brawls both on and off the field.
“The FNRL judiciary will convene to review the incidents and determine appropriate penalties, which may include point deductions for both teams, suspensions for players identified as instigators, and bans for spectators involved in the violence,” said Masi.
The Vodafone Cup competition will continue this Saturday.
