FNPF-OWNED InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) hotels in Fiji – InterContinental Fiji Gold Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) Suva and Holiday Inn Suva have been officially accredited as a Great Place Work for 2025.
The certification is based on independent assessment and colleague feedback, placing Fiji’s hotels among the world’s most respected employers.
According to IHG Hotels & Resorts, in the Australia–Pacific region, nine out of 10 colleagues said IHG was a great place to work, with Fiji scoring 94 per cent agreement, well above the regional average of 85 per cent.
It stated that research showed such high engagement translated directly into stronger guest satisfaction, operational resilience and financial performance.
“Our colleagues are the heart of our success, and this recognition belongs to them,” IHG Hotels & Resorts regional general manager Fiji and Pacific Lachlan Walker said.
“It reflects the passion and care they bring every day, and it shows that when we invest in our people, we create a culture where careers flourish and guest experiences excel,” Mr Walker said.
“I am especially proud of how this accreditation highlights Fiji’s growing reputation for hospitality talent, and I want to acknowledge Alvin Prasad, our regional director of Human Resources, for his leadership in making this a reality.”
Mr Walker said colleagues across the hotels benefitted from a wide range of support, including comprehensive medical insurance with overseas evacuation, life cover, and additional leave such as birthday and paternity leave.
He said career development was also encouraged through tuition reimbursement and study leave, alongside recognition programs like Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year, which rewarded outstanding contributions with travel, cash prizes and cultural experiences.
He added lifestyle privileges, including dining discounts, spa benefits and access to the global IHG Employee Room Benefit, allowed colleagues to enjoy the same experiences they helped create for guests.
“The Great Place to Work accreditation reinforces the connection between employee well-being and business excellence. It signals that Fiji’s leading hotels are not only extraordinary destinations for travellers but also rewarding, supportive and inspiring places for people to build meaningful hospitality careers.”
The Great Place To Work certification is a globally recognised accreditation that validates an organisation’s commitment to creating outstanding employee experience and a positive workplace culture.
