Fiji Rugby Union board chairman John Sanday has confirmed that the highly anticipated Test match against Scotland will be held at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva during the July/August international rugby window.

Sanday confirmed to this newspaper.

This is part of the Flying Fijians’ preparation for the international season, which also includes a clash with the Wallabies on July 6 at Newcastle and travel home to play the Scottish the following weekend.

“We’ve confirmed the dates and are now just finalising the finer details to sign off on the agreements,” Sanday said.

While the schedule is almost locked in, Sanday hinted that minor adjustments might still be made. He acknowledged the challenges of securing top-level opponents, as many teams plan their schedules years in advance.

“We might change a few things, one or two, but that’s where we are,” he added.

Currently ranked ninth in the world, Fiji will look to defy the odds against Australia (8th) and Scotland (6th).

“We are negotiating with others, but then again, it’s the process, and a lot of these teams have already organised their international matches two to three years ago,” Sanday explained.

The Scotland Test will also serve as a chance for the Fijians to avenge their heavy loss at Murrayfield during last November.
