A flash flood warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji, according to the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi.

In their 8am bulletin, the Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure, accompanied by widespread cloud and rain, continues to affect the Fiji Group, increasing the risk of flash flooding.

Isolated heavy rainfall is expected to trigger flash flooding, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

The main hazards include flooding of drainage systems, small streams, low water bridges, Irish crossings, roads, and properties located in vulnerable areas.

Tide information indicates a high tide of 1.55 metres for Lautoka at 3:44pm, with a low tide of 0.70 metres recorded at 9:23am.

In Suva, high tide is expected at 4:28pm at 1.51 metres, while low tide of 0.60 metres was recorded at 10:07am.

Authorities are urging members of the public to remain vigilant, avoid flooded roads and crossings, and exercise extreme caution, especially during periods of heavy rain.

Residents in low-lying areas are advised to closely monitor conditions and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.
