The National Weather Forecasting Center in Nadi states a flash flood alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji as of 9:00am today.

According to Fiji Met, a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain will continue to affect the country into next week.

The hazard includes flash flooding caused by isolated heavy rainfall, with potential impacts on drainage systems, small streams, low water bridges, Irish crossings, roads, and properties in low-lying areas.

The alert is based on data from the Fiji Flash Flood Guidance System, rainfall forecast models, and weather radars.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant, exercise caution, and avoid flood-prone areas where possible.
