Flash flood alert remains in force for all of Fiji

The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi is maintaining a flash flood alert for the entire Fiji Group as of 5am today.

A slow-moving trough of low pressure continues to affect the country, bringing widespread cloud and rain.

Authorities warn of flash flooding due to isolated heavy rainfall.

According to the Fiji Flash Flood Guidance System, rainfall models and radar observations show an increased risk of flooding in drainages, small streams, low-water bridges, crossings, roads and low-lying properties.

Members of the public are urged to remain alert, avoid flooded areas and stay updated with the latest advisories.
