The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a flash flood alert, warning of potential flash flooding in parts of the country.
A flash flood alert is now in force for the eastern half of Viti Levu — covering areas from Serua-Namosi through Navua, Suva, Nausori to Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra — and for the Northern Division.
According to the Weather Office in Nadi, a trough of low pressure accompanied by cloud, showers, and rain is expected to begin affecting the eastern and northern parts of the country from tomorrow.
Authorities warn that isolated heavy rain may lead to flash flooding in drainage systems, small streams, low-lying crossings, roads, and properties in flood-prone areas.
Residents are urged to remain alert and monitor weather updates from the National Weather Forecasting Centre as conditions may worsen over the weekend.
