A flash flood alert is in force for northern and eastern Viti Levu, from Ba to Korovou, including Nalawa in Ra, Naitasiri and its interior.
The alert is also maintained across the Northern Division.
Authorities say a trough of low pressure, accompanied by cloud and persistent rain, continues to affect the northern and eastern parts of the country, increasing the risk of flash flooding.
Tide information for today indicates Lautoka high tide at at 6.20am and low tide at 12.01pm
For Suva high tide is at 6.46am and low tide at 12.28pm
The main hazard is flash flooding caused by isolated heavy rainfall that can lead to flooding in drainage systems, small streams, low-water bridges, Irish crossings, roads and properties in low-lying areas.
Residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant, avoid flooded crossings and heed warnings issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service and disaster authorities.
