First call for SODELPA, NFP petition

Listen to this article:

THE Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) and the National Federation Party (NFP) appeared in court this afternoon for a petition they filed yesterday on the results of the 2018 General  Election.

They appeared before Madam Justice Anjala Wati and Judge Justice Kamal Kumar at the Court of Disputed Returns in Suva.

Petitioner counsel Filimoni Vosarogo told the court that they have served the Supervisor of Elections and also attempted to serve the second respondent who was general secretary of the FijiFirst party.

Representing the general secretary of the FijiFirst party Devanesh Sharma, in response, said the petition was an incomplete document.

Representing the Supervisor of Elections Sharvada Sharma said his client was served at 5.45 pm yesterday and that the petition should be struck out.

The matter has been adjourned and it will be called after 4pm today.
