Football fans in the north are set for an action-packed, thrilling weekend of football as the top four teams are confirmed for the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants.

It’s even more exciting in the semis with home team Extra Supermarket Labasa being one of the top four teams to have made it through.

Labasa is joined by Group A runner-up, Lautoka, Group B winner Lincoln Rewa and runner up, River Tubing Fiji / Classic Travel Tours & Rentals Navua.

Navua secured its place in the last four after Rewa defeated Ravindra’s Transport Suva 2-0 in their last pool match.

Defending champion Lautoka made it to the last four after a nil-all draw against Labasa in the last group match of day three.

The result dashed Ba’s hope of making the semi-finals as a loss to Lautoka would have taken them through.

Labasa will face Navua in the first semi-final next Saturday at 2pm.

The second semi-final is scheduled for 4.30pm between Rewa and Lautoka.

“It is pleasing to announce that northern fans can come and support their home team Labasa, which has qualified to the semi-final right here at Subrail Park,” Fiji Football Association chief executive Mohammed Yusuf stated.

Labasa’s progression was one of the prerequisites of hosting the semi-finals and finals at Subrail Park with the first factor being crowd attendance.

Passionate fans checked this requirement with 3967 people turning up for day one, 4483 on day two and 4573 came to watch the games yesterday.

“We have got tremendous support from the Labasa fans, and we are looking forward to a great two-day next weekend,” Yusuf added.

The Fiji FA is expecting a bumper crowd in the semi-finals and final next weekend.
