IT’S one last dance on the pitch for the Fiji Airways Fiji men’s and Fijiana 7s teams when the Bordeaux 7s kicks off this weekend in France.

This is the final stop of the 2025/26 HSBC SVNS and the third and final leg of the Championships format.

However, with a clean slate for this week, the mission ahead is an imminent one; to win the HSBC SVNS Series.

Head coach Osea Kolinisau’s men finished in fourth place last weekend at the Valladolid 7s in Spain, just two points shy of a podium finish.

Getting to that point for Fiji will mean overcoming the might of their Pool A opponents South Africa, Kenya and Great Britain.

Fiji’s last successful finish at a tournament this season was in Singapore in January.

Since then, losses in the higher stages of competition have placed them in play-off matches to settle for other spots on the series standings.

For the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team, head coach Richie Walker has a tough task ahead of equipping his players with the tools to conquer their Pool B opponents Australia, Japan and Brazil. A fluctuating season of highs and lows, the side has managed to remain in the top eight and avoid relegation to the series’ second tier, SVNS 2.

With these in mind, seven other teams head into France with the same intention however it will take a combination of mental and physical grit and might to brush aside the rest and emerge as the rightful winner of the series.

The Bordeaux 7s will be held at the Stade de Bordeaux from tomorrow and finishes on Sunday.
