A HISTORIC clash is on the cards as RC Manubhai Ba hosts Stratum Construction Rewa in the Super Premier Division final of the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) at 4R Electric Stadium, Govind Park Ba today.
It’s been 24 years since these two football giants last met in an IDC final, the 2001 showdown at the National Stadium in Suva, where Ba triumphed on penalties.
Now, they meet again, with the title and bragging rights on the line.
Ba, backed by over 10,000 passionate home fans, produced a dominant performance in the semi-final, defeating defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa 3-0.
Goals from Vilitati Kautoga, Nabil Begg, and Etonia Dogelau sealed the victory in style.
The Men in Black controlled the tempo throughout the match and created numerous scoring opportunities.
Labasa’s efforts worsened when captain Christopher Wasasala was shown a red card after receiving two yellow cards within the first 38 minutes.
Rewa secured their spot in the final with a convincing 2-0 win over PowerVolt Suva.
Striker John Orobulu continued his fine form, scoring both goals by pouncing on loose balls near the Suva goalmouth.
Known for his sharp finishing, Orobulu’s brace ensured Rewa’s third final appearance of the season.
Earlier in the tournament, Ba and Rewa played out a 2-2 draw in their final pool match, adding more excitement to today’s highly anticipated rematch.
The Super Premier final kicks off at 3pm, with a massive crowd expected to fill the stands.
In the day’s other finals, Rakiraki will meet Lami in the Senior Division final at 10am, followed by the Premier Division final between Nasinu and Tavua at 12.30pm.
A thrilling day of football awaits fans in Ba.
