Last Sunday was a day of reflection and celebration as congregations across Fiji held their final church services of the year 2025.
From quiet morning worship to afternoon gatherings, Christians from different traditions came together to close the spiritual year with prayer, praise, and scripture.
For the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma, members gathered in large numbers for their annual year-end service. Worship included the Bible readings which reminded the faithful about God’s steadfast presence and hope amid life’s changes.
Catholic parishes marked the final Sunday Mass with special solemnity.
At the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva married couples also renewed their vows, reaffirming their commitment before God and the community.
Archbishop Peter Loy Chong delivered a moving message on family life. He urged husbands to lead with self-sacrifice, honour their wives’ dignity, and build homes rooted in Christ-like love — a modern call to deepen spiritual commitment in family life.
Church leaders across denominations encouraged their members to carry the peace and lessons of 2025 forward into the new year, anchored in faith and community.
