Fiji’s inflation has continued its moderate trend with the annual average inflation rate reaching 1.7 percent for the 12-month period ending July 2025, according to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBoS).
In its latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) release, FBoS reported that while prices have increased modestly over the past year, there was a 0.4 percent decline in prices when comparing July 2025 to July 2024, indicating a month-on-month deflation.
“The Consumer Price Index is compiled to indicate average changes in the prices of goods and services purchased by households nationwide,” the report stated.
The CPI is based on monthly price collections conducted in key urban centres including Suva, Lami, Nasinu, Nausori, Lautoka, Nadi, Ba and Labasa, but is also used to represent price changes in rural areas.
