Fijian nationals in the Middle East are being urged to consider leaving the region as security conditions continue to deteriorate.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade says the situation remains highly volatile and unpredictable, with escalating hostilities across multiple fronts contributing to growing instability.

In its latest advisory, the Ministry confirmed that all Fijians in the region — including members of the diaspora, Embassy staff and peacekeepers — are safe and accounted for, with no reports of injuries.

However, authorities are now encouraging citizens to consider voluntary evacuation from affected areas as soon as it is safe to do so.

Fiji’s Embassies in Abu Dhabi and Jerusalem remain operational and are providing consular support, including assistance to those seeking to depart.

Travellers have been advised that commercial travel may still be possible through neighbouring countries such as Jordan and Saudi Arabia, although flight availability remains uncertain and alternative routes may be required.

The Ministry also noted that Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and India are offering visa-on-arrival arrangements for Fijian passport holders to help facilitate transit and departure.

At the same time, Government has issued a strong warning against travel to several high-risk countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

Fijians are also urged to reconsider non-essential travel to Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia due to ongoing security risks and travel disruptions.

Officials say the Joint Emergency Operations Centre continues to monitor the situation in real time and is working closely with Fiji’s overseas missions to coordinate contingency and evacuation plans if needed.

The Ministry says it will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves, urging all Fijians in the region to remain vigilant and maintain contact with the nearest Fiji Embassy.
