The Fijian Drua have a new digital home! drua.rugby is now ready as a ‘holding page’ and is offering fans a chance to win an official autographed Swire Shipping Fijian Drua jersey simply by signing up using a simple form on the holding page.
According to a statement by Fijian Drua, by signing up, fans will also receive alerts and updates from their favourite Super Rugby Pacific team. In the coming weeks, drua.rugby will progress to a full website with the ability to provide exciting and fun engagement between the Drua team, fans, sponsors and stakeholders. Subscribed fans will be the first to be alerted when the Drua’s full site goes live.
“Our digital journey is critically important for us to keep our wonderful fans, sponsors and stakeholders engaged with the team. As an added bonus, fans who subscribe to our mailing list now will go into a draw to win that coveted, autographed, official Swire Shipping Fijian Drua jersey. In fact, the lucky winner will be among the first in the world to hold our first ever Super Rugby jersey. We think that’ll get fans pretty excited,” Club chief executive officer Brian Thorburn said.
According to the statement, the website has been developed by UK-based technology, data and sports marketing business InCrowd, who are a leader in data-powered digital platforms and have worked with some of the biggest names in sports, including UEFA, FIFA, Formula 1, English Cricket Board, United Rugby Championship, Premiership Rugby, The RFL, and fellow rugby clubs London Irish, Ulster, Leinster and many others.
InCrowd’s Head of Partnerships AU & NZ Seb Lear said: “This is an incredibly exciting partnership for InCrowd. The Fijian Drua has a unique opportunity to build a digital ecosystem from the ground up, and to deliver great digital experiences for the passionate fans of Fijian Rugby. This fan first approach is a value very much shared by InCrowd, with the foundation of the business built on helping partners create direct relationships with their fans, something that has been even more critical for every sport to focus on over the last 18 months. The new website will be the primary destination for Drua fans to connect with the club, powered by InCrowd’s Digital Experience Platform, Bridge, enabling fans to keep up to date and engaged with every step of the Drua’s first season in Super Rugby Pacific.”
Thorburn added: “Our full website will be dynamic and will allow visitors easy navigation to the information they want. Once fully ready, it will allow our vuvale (family) to get their Super Rugby fix and be updated on our team’s performance, progress and stats.”
During the 2022 Super Rugby season, drua.rugby will have real time updates during match days, supported by the Fijian Drua’s social media channels. The site will carry the latest news, statistical graphics, fan voting, competitions, player profiles, video galleries, interviews and other exclusive content. Subscribed fans will be the first to receive regular alerts and exclusive content as soon as the website is live.
Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have also confirmed two warm up matches with Melbourne Rebels and Western Force on January 28 and February 10, 2022 respectively, before the start of the season proper.
