Fijian Drua flyer gets call up to face Lions

Another Fijian player has joined the inaugural First Nations and Pasifika XV team that will face the British & Irish Lions next Tuesday

Winger Ponipate Loganimasi becomes the third Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and Flying Fijian player to join the team.

He joins Mesake Doge and Mesake Vocevoce.

The former Fiji 7s star had a stellar debut season in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific where he played 12 matches and scored 6 tries.

Fijian Drua General Manager Rugby Baden Stephenson commended his selection.

“Poni had a great Super Rugby season, so this is another brilliant opportunity to show case his skills on the big stage. I am sure it is an honour, and he will represent his family, Club & country very well,” he told the club.

The other Fijians in the First Nations & Pasifika XV squad are Seru Uru of the Reds, Brumbies prop Lington Ieli and Issak Fines-Leleiwasa of the Western Force.

The match will kick off at 9.45pm FJT at the Marvel Stadium in Naarm, Melbourne.
