Youth exchange programs not only allow you to explore a new environment but it also gives you the opportunity to learn new things like culture, language and additional skills.
Last week the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the Indian High Commission in Suva farewelled 10 young Fijians who will embark on a youth exchange program in India.
Youth and Sports Minister, Jese Saukuru emphasised that the program was more than just a chance to travel, it was also an opportunity for the delegates to dive into the world of knowledge, intercultural dialogue and personal growth.
“Embrace the challenges that lie ahead as they will shape you into fearless global citizens who have the capacity to ignite change and make a lasting impact,” he said.
He reminded the young delegates that they were not only representing themselves but were also representing their beloved nation.
“Embrace the diversity, culture and traditions you will encounter in India, for it is through these experiences that you will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around you,” he said.
He highlighted that the delegates were all ambassadors of goodwill and friendship and it was through their interactions and exchange that lasting bonds would be formed.
The Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Palaniswamy Karthigeyan in the statement expressed his admiration for the past participants saying that the Fijian delegation always leaves a lasting impression and impact on the people of India.
Mr Karthigeyan extended his well wishes to the delegates, hoping for their safe and successful journey.
This is the third trip for this youth exchange program.
