Fiji wins spot in world event

FIJI has earned a spot at the 2016 World Bowls Championship which will be held in Christchurch, New Zealand from November 29 to December 11.

Fiji qualified in five disciplines after the 2015 Asia Pacific Bowls Championships.

However the men’s fours team was invited after replacing Cyprus which withdrew for the event.

Bowls Fiji president Radhika Prasad said Australia-based expatriate coach Robbie Dobbins was already in the country to guide the national players.

Prasad said the final squad for the World Championship had been named.
