Kadavu Rugby coach Josevata Bola and Navosa Rugby coach David Dakuitoga are attached with the Shop N Save Fiji Warriors coaching staff.
This initiative is part of the FRU’s new Coach Development Pathway, aimed at providing local coaches with exposure and experience at international level.
Fiji Warriors head coach Cohen Politini said the team was blessed to have the services of the two coaches for their upcoming match against the Australian Country team today.
“We are blessed to have both the Vanua finalists, the Kadavu and Navosa coaches, here on attachment and observers,” Politini shared.
“There’s been lots of learning and interactions with them, there been lots of learning along the way. They also feel blessed to be part of this environment and experience this level of coaching with the high-performance coaches.”
Through this initiative, the coaches will get first hand insight of high-performance preparations and practices, gaining valuable experience that will help them develop their provincial and grassroots rugby talents. Meanwhile, the Kadavu and Navosa teams were finalists of the Vodafone Vanua Cup at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka recently, and Kadavu won 23-17.
Both finalists have also been promoted to the Skipper Cup next season. The Fiji Warriors face the Australian Country team at 4pm today at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
