Fiji will join 31 other nations to be a part of the Asian Disaster Reduction Centre (ADRC).

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said the ADRC, established in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture in Japan in 1998, had a mission to enhance disaster resilience of its member countries, build safe communities, and create a society where sustainable development was attainable.

“ADRC works to build disaster-resilient communities and to establish networks among countries through personnel exchanges and a variety of other programs,” he said.
