Fiji will host the Pacific’s biggest tourism trade week in May next year, bringing together regional tourism leaders, international buyers and industry stakeholders for a week of business, networking and knowledge sharing.

Tourism Fiji and the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) announced the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) and the Fiji Tourism Exchange (FTE) 2027 will be held in Nadi from May 3 to 8.

The week will begin with the SPTO Board meeting on May 3, followed by SPTO Industry Day on May 4. The SPTE will be held from May 5 to 6 at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa before the Fiji Tourism Exchange takes place on May 7 and 8.

The events are expected to connect international buyers with tourism operators and national tourism offices from across the Pacific, while creating new business opportunities and strengthening industry partnerships.

SPTO chief executive officer Christopher Cocker said SPTE was one of the Pacific’s most important tourism platforms and Fiji had consistently demonstrated its ability to host high-quality regional events.

Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Dr Paresh Pant said hosting both events together would strengthen Fiji’s position as the Pacific’s tourism and aviation hub.

He said the combined event would provide greater value for international buyers and industry partners while showcasing not only Fiji but the diversity of tourism experiences across the Pacific.

The combined hosting of SPTE and FTE is also expected to reinforce Fiji’s position as a key regional hub for sustainable tourism development, destination marketing and global competitiveness.
