Fiji will host the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting (CLMM) from 9 to 12 February 2026, bringing together law ministers and attorneys general from across the Commonwealth to strengthen legal cooperation and advance access to justice.

The Commonwealth has 56 member countries.

Convened under the theme “Anchoring Justice in a Changing Tide: Strengthening the Rule of Law for a Resilient Future,” the meeting will be hosted by the Government of the Republic of Fiji and chaired by the Office of the Attorney General.

The CLMM is one of the largest international gatherings focused on legal cooperation within the Commonwealth, providing a platform for ministers to review progress on improving access to justice and to agree on practical measures to remove barriers that prevent people from having their legal needs met.

A press statement from The Commonwealth states discussions will cover a wide range of priority issues, including the use of technology in justice delivery, model contracts for natural resource governance, legal reform tools, and strengthened protections for fundamental rights.

Outcomes from the meeting are expected to guide the Commonwealth Secretariat’s ongoing work under the Declaration on Access to Justice and help shape the agenda for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which will be held in Antigua and Barbuda.
