Fiji will face a fired-up Japan side in the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup Final on Monday as Brave Blossoms Head Coach Eddie Jones makes five changes to his team ahead of the highly anticipated clash in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The match kicks off at 12:30pm with the Fijians aiming to defend their title after a dominant 41–17 win over Japan in last year’s final in Higashiosaka.
Jones’ team is coming off a convincing 62–24 win against Tonga in their last outing but has been forced to reshuffle due to injuries.
Despite the changes, the veteran coach remains confident his side is ready to challenge the reigning champions.
“We’ve had a really strong preparation and named a team that reflects the depth and competition in the squad,” said Jones.
“Fiji is a very good side, but our aim is clear — we’re going there to win.”
Fiji, currently ranked ninth in the world, go into the final as favourites and are unbeaten in this year’s tournament.
Japan, ranked 13th, will need to be at their tactical best to overcome a Fijian team known for its physicality, flair, and fast-paced style of play.
A win in Salt Lake City would mark back-to-back Pacific Nations Cup titles for Fiji and further cement their dominance in the region.
