RUM Co. of Fiji’s Lautoka 16-Year-Old won the silver medal at the Asia Spirits Rating Competition – one of Asia’s most respected competitions that recognises excellence in quality, value and presentation.
The award adds to Rum Co. Of Fiji’s record of more than 230 international accolades and highlights its commitment to quality and the preservation of Fijian rum-making heritage.
The company stated the win also positioned Lautoka 16-Year-Old as a premium spirit of international calibre and strengthened Fiji’s presence on the global rum stage.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji (CCEP) head of Marketing – Alcohol Etrina Simpson said receiving a silver medal in its first entry into this competition was a proud moment for their team.
“Rum Co. of Fiji’s Lautoka 16-Year-Old embodies 16 years of patient maturation and meticulous craftsmanship,” Ms Simpson said in a statement.
“This recognition confirms that South Pacific Distillery in Lautoka produces premium rum with a unique identity and global appeal.”
Matured in small batches for 16 years, she said the Lautoka 16-Year-Old was celebrated for its depth and refined character.
Lautoka 16-Year-Old opens with a smoky oak aroma, well-rounded palate layered with spice and dried fruit and finishes with a subtle peppered note, the company said.
Ms Simpson said the company continued to expand the international presence of its rums with the Lautoka 16-Year-Old leading the way as a symbol of the brand’s dedication to excellence.
She said the award highlighted Fiji’s capacity to produce premium spirits deeply rooted in culture, heritage and craftsmanship.
Asia Spirits Rating Competition is a new competition evaluating spirits for the Asian market, and are judged on quality, value and packing by industry experts.
