THE Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) has advertised seven key positions as it strengthens its national and high-performance programs ahead of major international competitions.
The vacancies cover age-grade, sevens and women’s rugby, reflecting FRU’s long-term focus on building depth, improving performance pathways and maintaining Fiji’s competitiveness on the world stage.
Among the major roles advertised is the Fiji U20 head coach, who will guide the national U20 side into a new era of international rugby. From 2026, Fiji will compete in the SANZAAR U20 Championship against New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Argentina, while also returning to the expanded World Rugby Junior U20 Championship.
To support the U20 program, FRU is also seeking a Fiji U20 forwards coach and a Fiji U20 backs coach. These roles will focus on developing technical, tactical and performance standards for young players as they transition into elite and professional rugby environments.
In the sevens program, FRU has advertised the role of assistant coach for the Fiji men’s 7s team, supporting the side’s mission to win gold at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The position offers an opportunity to be part of one of Fiji’s most successful and globally recognised sporting teams.
The assistant coach for the Fijiana 7s team has also been advertised, with the aim of helping the women’s side secure an Olympic medal at the 2028 Games.
In women’s XV rugby, FRU is looking for a head coach for the Fijiana XV and Fijian Drua Women. The role will lead the national team through a transformational cycle, with the strategic goal of achieving a historic top eight finish at the 2029 Rugby World Cup in Australia and establishing Fiji as a consistent Tier 1 nation in the women’s game.
Completing the list is the head of women’s high-performance program, a senior leadership role responsible for aligning coaching, talent development and high-performance systems to deliver sustained international success.
