The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has issued a warning following recent heavy rainfall, with several roads and crossings in the Western Division flooded and currently inaccessible.
Motorists and road users are urged to exercise caution while travelling.
Affected areas include:
-Katudrau Crossing, Vatumani Road, Rakiraki, Ra – closed to all traffic
-Narara 1 Crossing, Narara Road, Rakiraki, Ra – closed to all traffic
-Saru Back Road, Lautoka – crossing flooded and closed to traffic
-Vaivai Road, Lautoka (Irish Crossing) – flooded and closed to traffic
-Navula Road, Lautoka (Irish Crossing) – flooded and closed to traffic
-Buabua Flats, Buabua Road, Lautoka – road width restricted to single lane
-Kings Road at Field 4 Road junction – surface flooding reported
-Vunisamaloa Road, Ba – flooded and inaccessible
The FRA urges the public to avoid flooded areas where possible and to follow alternative routes to ensure safety.
Drivers are reminded to exercise caution, reduce speed, and adhere to traffic advisories in flood-affected areas.
