Fijian family-owned Likuliku Lagoon Resort has secured its position among the region’s elite tourism properties, claiming the number two spot in Fiji and sixth place overall in the Top 20 Resorts in Australia & South Pacific category of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler USA annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

The accolade continues Likuliku’s long history of recognition in the awards, with repeated appearances among the leading resorts in Australia and the South Pacific since 2016. This year’s rankings draw from more than 798,867 survey responses from United States readers, serving as the travel industry’s longest-running and ultimate symbol of excellence.

Ahura Resorts owner and managing director Tony Whitton expressed pride in the achievement as the iconic property approaches its 20th year.

“As a long-established and iconic Fijian resort approaching its 20th year, wWe are honoured to receive accolades such as this, which reflects our mission to provide an exceptional guest experience—and one that is helping to directly provide income and support for Fijian families,” Mr Whitton said.

Group general manager Brad Calder credited the resort’s operational consistency and loyal customer base.

“This achievement is a testament to the quality of our product offering and the consistent delivery of our promise to our guests,” Mr Calder said in a statement. Situated in the Mamanuca islands 25 kilometers from Nadi International Airport, Likuliku distinguishes itself as Fiji’s only resort featuring authentic over-water bungalows in a natural ocean environment.

Operating within a protected marine sanctuary, the luxury property maintains a rigorous focus on environmental and community stewardship.

All conservation initiatives on Malolo Island are managed through the award-winning Ahura Resorts Conservation Foundation, a registered charitable trust established in 2020.
