There’s a certain kind of magic when the sun dips over Nadi Bay — when the sky turns gold, glasses catch the last light, and music begins to rise softly in the background. It’s the moment the world slows down just enough for you to take it all in.
This Saturday, 1st November, that moment belongs to the Fiji Red Cross Ball.
After more than 6 years, the Ball returns — not as a formal affair, but as a night that invites you to savour everything we love about Fiji at its finest: laughter, warmth, good company, and the joy of giving back.
As the evening begins, guests will gather over cocktails against the Nadi sunset, a scene painted in red and gold. The clink of glasses and soft murmur of conversation fill the air before everyone is ushered into the grand ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa — reimagined for one night as a place of light, music, and celebration.
A five-course sit-down dinner awaits, crafted to showcase the best of local flavours, paired with the finest wines that flow through the night. The room hums with anticipation — laughter shared between strangers, stories told over the glow of candlelight, and the first few songs from Inside Out, one of Fiji’s most loved live bands. Before long, the dance floor will open, and the night will take on a life of its own.
But beyond the dinner and dancing lies the heart of the evening — the charity auction.
Imagine two nights in a beachfront bure at Likuliku Island Resort, the waves lapping softly as you sip your morning coffee. A family escape to Malolo Island Resort, where children chase the tide and laughter floats across the lagoon. Three nights of pure indulgence at Matamanoa Island Resort, or a three-night voyage through the Yasawas on a Blue Lagoon Cruise, where every sunrise feels like a discovery. Sail the sparkling Mamanucas aboard the Sabre, take home an original Jack Eastgate artwork, or choose a dazzling piece from J Hunter Pearls. And for the ultimate adventure, fly the skies with Fiji Airways — a return trip for two from Australia or New Zealand, your next story waiting to be written. Every bid carries the promise of delight, escape, and the quiet joy of giving back.
Because this night is not just about what’s on the table or what’s under the lights — it’s about what happens when people come together for something good. Every ticket, every bid, and every moment of laughter helps the Fiji Red Cross Society reach further — to the families waiting for help after a cyclone, the communities rebuilding from loss, and the volunteers who walk miles to deliver hope.
This year’s theme, Dress Your Red in Resilience, says it best. It’s about celebrating strength — the kind that rebuilds, comforts, and keeps moving forward, no matter the disaster.
And none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners — The Australian Red Cross, the New Zealand Red Cross, the American Red Cross, the IFRC, ICRC, The Fiji Times, Prouds Fiji, Rosie Holidays Fiji, Encore AZPAC, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa by IHG, Fiji Water, Boss Communications, Vanua Chocolates, Total Design, Prouds, CK Patel, Pasifika Direct, and all our generous auction donors — who answered our call when we decided to bring back the great Red Cross Ball. Their faith and collaboration turned an idea into an evening that promises to be unforgettable.
So when the sun sets on 1st November and the first song fills the room, you’ll know — this is more than an event. It’s a celebration of who we are, of the heart that carries Fiji through every challenge, and of the beauty that happens when we gather to give back.
It’s a night to remember.
And it starts under the Nadi sunset. And maybe, just maybe, it’s the kind of night we all need right now.
