Fiji has recorded an average annual deflation rate of -0.9 percent for the 12 months ending September 2025, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.

This means, on average, consumer prices fell slightly compared to the previous year.

The month-on-month inflation rate, comparing September 2025 with September 2024, also shows a larger deflation of -3.8 percent.

However, between August and September 2025, the CPI rose by 0.3 percent, indicating a modest price increase in the short term.

The CPI, compiled monthly using data from urban centres such as Suva, Lami, Nasinu, Nausori, Lautoka, Nadi, Ba, and Labasa, is currently used to reflect price trends nationwide, including rural areas.
