Fiji is well-prepared to host Fijian musician George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso’s Homecoming Concert next month, says Tourism Fiji.

Tourism Fiji said given Fiji’s growing tourist numbers, investment in hosting international artists could further enhance Fiji’s global appeal.

“Tourism Fiji is thrilled about George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso’s Homecoming concert, which celebrates his talent and highlights Fiji’s vibrant musical scene,” said a Tourism Fiji spokesperson.

“While Tourism Fiji isn’t formally partnering with the event organisers, we are actively promoting the concert.

“Such concerts significantly boost the tourism industry by attracting visitors, showcasing our cultural richness and supporting local businesses.”

Earlier this month, Veikoso announced the details of the long-awaited concert in a statement.

“I am honoured to return home and share with you the music that has been my life’s work,” he said.

“This homecoming is more than just a concert – it’s a celebration of our roots, our culture and the music that connects us all.”

He is expected to perform alongside J Boog, Maoli and Josh Tatofi at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on September 14 and 15.
