Fiji police officers are receiving training on public order management from the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
AFP had donated equipment used in the Public Order Management (POM) in October.
“The POM equipment, while assisting the Police Mobile Force in their specialised operations, is also envisaged to boost Fiji’s endeavour of delivering training in this field for the region.” said Fiji Police Force.
The training is an extension of the Solesolevaki Memorandum of Understanding formalised in October 2022 between the AFP and FPF, strengthening partnerships in addressing security vulnerabilities between the two countries and the Pacific region.
