THE success of Fiji–PNG cooperation is evident all around us, says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica.

He made this remark while officiating at the historic PNG-Fiji Business Forum in Nadi on Wednesday.

“PNG companies like Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC), BSP and Credit Corporation have made significant investments in Fiji,” Mr Kamikamica said.

“Likewise, Fijian businesses such as Vodafone, Jack’s, and Prouds have expanded into PNG, creating jobs and opportunities for our people.”

Mr Kamikamica said Fiji’s capital markets were also building bridges.

“The South Pacific Stock Exchange and Papua New Guinea’s PNGX Group are collaborating to develop stronger, more integrated financial markets.

“This is not just about capital – it is about confidence in a shared Pacific economy.

“My recent business mission to PNG in March this year is already bearing fruit.

“Companies like Paradise Technology, All Freight Logistics and Punjas are expanding across our borders, creating new trade flows and supply chain linkages.

“These are practical outcomes that show how Fiji and PNG can be engines of Pacific integration.

“During that visit, we secured 11 foreign investment leads and 21 trade leads.

“Papua New Guinean businesses signalled strong intentions to invest in Fiji, while Fijian companies began mapping concrete pathways into the PNG market.

“These are not just numbers – they are the seeds of new factories, new services, new jobs, and new opportunities for our people.”
