Fiji National University to cater for Fijian Drua after new deal

THE Fiji National University (FNU) has been announced as the official catering partner of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, in a partnership where the two parties engage in what they describe as an exciting new collaboration.

FNU’s School of Hospitality & Tourism will supply the club with meals and snacks from its Namaka Campus, according to dietary requirements provided by the club, for the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific and Buildcorp Super Rugby Women’s competitions.

While FNU’s services have already begun, Baden Stephenson, the general manager of the club relayed his excitement at the new partnership.

“We’re very happy to partner with FNU for our catering requirements for the current pre-season training and throughout the Super Rugby season,” Stephenson said.

He added the collaboration would serve as a win-win for both FNU and the Drua as well.

“Its School of Hospitality & Tourism students and staff get to put their culinary education into practice by preparing, delivering and presenting meals for professional athletes,” he said.

“The Fijian Drua athletes (will) receive excellent nutrition during the day prepared at the FNU Namaka Campus and outstanding catering facilities by leading culinary experts and asssted by their talented students.”

Meanwhile, FNU Vice-Chancellor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba expressed her excitement at the new venture.

“This is being done for the first time, and we are thrilled about this opportunity,” she said.
