The Nadi weather office is monitoring tropical disturbance 11F (TD11F) which has developed near Vanuatu.
The system has gained strength in the past 12 hours.
A forecasted path of TD11F released this morning shows it will not have a direct effect on Fiji.
TD11F is expected to gradually drift towards the South-Southwest before making a Southeast turn in the next 24 hours.
There will be further intensification of the system.
The Nadi weather office states the potential for TD11F to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours is low and moderate after that.
