It was heartbreak for Team Fiji men’s 7s after France ended their unbeaten run at the Olympics 7- 28 in the final.

Fiji had won all their games in the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The side had a chance to get a piece of history with a three-peat, however, the French were too strong at home.

With 7 points each at half-time, France scored 3 converted tries in the second half, much to the delight of the vocal French fans.

The three tries helped the French side win the match convincingly in the end.

Team Fiji men’s 7s side will not return home empty handed and have secured the country’s first ever silver medal from the Olympics after the loss.

In the bronze final, South Africa defeated Australia 26-19.
