Fiji Airways has announced the successful arrival of Fiji Link’s newest ATR aircraft in Nadi, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s continued investment in strengthening domestic and regional connectivity.

The aircraft touched down in Nadi on 7 January after completing a remarkable multi-day ferry journey from Toulouse, France.

Along its delivery route, the ATR travelled through Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and the Solomon Islands before arriving safely in Fiji.

Fiji Airways Chief Fiji Link and Cargo Operations Officer Athil Narayan said the new aircraft represents more than just fleet renewal.

“Every new aircraft allows us to further strengthen domestic and regional connectivity. It brings people together and creates opportunities for connection, trade and shared experiences across our islands and the Pacific,” Narayan said.

The new ATR is expected to enhance Fiji Link’s operational capability, offering improved fuel efficiency, stronger performance in island environments and increased comfort for passengers travelling throughout Fiji and to neighbouring Pacific destinations.

Fiji Link, the domestic and regional subsidiary of Fiji Airways, has played a vital role in connecting remote communities, supporting inter-island travel and enabling economic activity across Fiji’s outer islands.

Since its establishment, the airline has evolved from operating small turboprop aircraft to managing a modern fleet serving both local residents and international visitors. The arrival of the new ATR represents the next phase of this growth.
