The Fiji Labour Party (FLP) has begun seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Fiji citizens who wish to contest the 2026/27 General Elections under its banner.

In a paid electoral advertisement, the party said it remains committed to the principles of a multiracial state and is looking for individuals who share its vision for the country’s future.

The party claims that concerns over accountability, transparency in governance, and the growing cost of living have created a need for a change in leadership.

FLP outlined several key priorities it says it would pursue if elected, including promoting peace, unity and trust among Fiji’s diverse communities, improving governance, and strengthening democratic institutions.

The party also pledged to address economic challenges by attracting investment, supporting business growth, creating employment opportunities for young people, and boosting investment in agriculture and fisheries to improve incomes in rural and maritime communities.

Other priorities highlighted include improving health, education and community welfare services, implementing policies to reduce poverty and the cost of living, providing affordable housing for low and middle-income families, and protecting the environment.

Interested applicants have been encouraged to submit their expressions of interest as the party prepares for the next general election.
