The Fiji Immigration Ministry has issued an alert regarding a fraudulent website posing as the country’s official e-Visa platform, labeling it a “serious threat to public safety and national security.”

The scam site, which emerged on June 24, 2025, has been illegally collecting personal information from unsuspecting users seeking visa and immigration services.

In a statement, Immigration Permanent Secretary Aliki Salusalu condemned the deceptive website, clarifying that it has no affiliation with the Fijian Government or the Ministry of Immigration.

“This unauthorised site was deliberately created to mislead and defraud individuals,” he said, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to protecting the public from such cyber threats.

The ministry is collaborating with law enforcement and cyber intelligence agencies to investigate the fraudulent platform and address its risks.

To avoid falling victim to the scam, the public is urged to verify that any immigration-related website ends with the official government domain “.gov.fj.”

Mr Salusalu stressed that only platforms with this designation are legitimate and authorized by the Fijian Government.
