Fiji hits new tourism record with 99,311 visitor arrivals in July 2025

Fiji’s tourism sector continues its impressive recovery and growth trajectory, with 99,311 visitors recorded in July 2025, the highest number ever recorded for the month of July.

According to provisional data released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics, this marks a 7.1% jump from June 2025, which recorded 92,693 arrivals.

The consistent upward trend has been evident since 2021, when arrivals were drastically low at just 452 due to pandemic-related travel restrictions.

Of the total visitor arrivals in July, 97,906 came by air, while 1,405 arrived by sea. Most sea arrivals included 853 seafarers on fishing vessels and 552 passengers arriving by yacht.

In terms of purpose of visit, 79.4% of visitors came for holidays, 8.9% visited friends or relatives, 1.9% arrived for business purposes and 9.8% visited Fiji for other reasons.

The top source markets for July 2025 were consistent with previous trends with Australia accounting for the largest share with 44,972 visitors, followed by New Zealand with 25,311 visitors, the United States contributed 12,226 visitors and Continental Europe and China were nearly tied at just under 3% each.
