The Fiji Military Women’s Rugby team has secured its spot in the final of the International Defence Rugby Championship 2025 in England after a dominant performance against the Irish team.

With a commanding 74-0 victory in the semi-finals, the Fiji side showcased their exceptional talent and skill on the field, scoring tries from long distances and displaying the trademark Fijian flair.

Captain Esita Batiniqila expressed her team’s excitement for the upcoming final, but acknowledged the tough challenge that lies ahead.

She emphasised the importance of a strong defensive approach against the formidable French team.

“France has a massive back line, they are really quick and really strong, we will be focusing on our defence, before the match,” said Batiniqila.

“We are confident with selection the coach has made for the team, we brought in our best 30, and we expect our best 30 to put on their best performance in the finals, and we will try our best not to go home empty handed.”

Fiji will take on France in the final on Wednesday.
