The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has confirmed that former Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho was fully discharged on 8 September 2025, following the completion of his prison sentence.
In a statement released today, the FCS clarified that Mr Qiliho was not released early, but in accordance with the due date of his discharge.
“Prisoner Sitiveni Qiliho was fully discharged on 8.9.25 and not released early,” the statement read.
The FCS also pointed out that Mr Qiliho was not the first prisoner to complete his sentence and be discharged from a corrections facility.
“There are other prisoners serving their time and they will be released once their discharge date is due.”
“The public is advised to respect the rights of the prisoners and avoid spreading wrong information to vindicate someone who has served his term of imprisonment.”
