Police Blue, Army Green and BLK Lavidi Brothers stamped their authority in the men’s division after remaining unbeaten at the end of Day One of the competition.
BLK Lavidi Brothers opened their Pool A campaign with a hard-fought 12–5 win over Valeni Brothers before claiming a win by default over Marist Rugby in their second pool match.
Army Green were equally impressive, shutting out Roots Exile 12–0 in their opening match and later winning by default over Clickex Veilomani to maintain their perfect record. Police Blue also stayed on track after defeating Lavena Reds 12–0 in their first match before overcoming Naulama Rugby 19–7 in their second outing to keep their elimination hopes alive.
Tournament organiser Vika Vataniyaragi said Day One was a positive start.
