Despite Samoa increasing their lead with a penalty kick, Fiji bounced back with a try from center Iosefo Masi, showcasing their offensive prowess.

Masi’s try brought Fiji within one point of Samoa at 13-12.

Fiji faced adversity when lock Temo Mayanavanua was sent to the sin bin, allowing Samoa to extend their lead with another penalty kick for a score of 16-12. Yet, Fiji managed to close the gap right before halftime with a successful penalty kick from flyhalf Caleb Muntz, making it 16-15.
